Alaska Solar Rebates

There a re a few discounts, rebates and other incentives for renewable energy in Alaska. Alaska is a net metering state. This means the electric utility is required to provide credit for extra power produced during the day by your solar system. Customers of Golden Valley Electric qualify for a power production credit of 30 cents per kilowatt hour. Solar systems are exempt from property taxes. Alaska residents and businesses can also use the 30% federal energy tax credit to reduce the price of solar installation. Alaska offers up to $10,000 in cash rebates for a variety of energy efficiency improvements made to an existing property.
