Tesla Energy Powerwall is a 6.4 kWh battery that stores electricity generated from solar panels or utility grid. Powerwall stores DC electricity (direct current) that must be converted to AC (alternating current). Several additional products are required to operate Powerwall including an auto-tansformer, special meter, and a third-party DC-AC inverter. An inverter is required for each Powerwall; Two Powerwalls requires two inverters. Powerwall must be installed by a Tesla Energy Certified Installer. LEARN WHAT IS THE TESLA POWERWALL PRICE?

The combination of solar panels and the Tesla Energy Powerwall battery delivers grid-tied savings and battery backup in a simple to manage system. The Tesla Installation Manual states that Powerwall must be installed by a Tesla Energy Certified Installer. Contact Tesla for details. The Tesla Energy Powerwall system consists of the following components.
Solar Panels - The solar panels generate renewable energy to power the home, charge the battery, or send excess power back to the utility grid.
Hybrid Inverter - The hybrid on-grid and off-grid inverter manages battery and system energy, in addition to its traditional function as a DC solar power inverter. The StorEdge and Fronius Symo hybrid inverters are certified compatible with Tesla Powerwall.
Meter for battery integration and for production and consumption readings for Feed-in Limitation.
Auto Transformer Regulates DC and AC voltage and current.
6.4 kWh Tesla Powerwall is ideal for daily use to maximize self-consumption and emergency backup using high-efficiency DC coupled Li-On battery.
